05:08 pm My X-box 360 has died.*cries* I guess I most of worn it out playing Dragon Age for ages at a time. Luckily it's still under warrently so Microsoft will fix it for free and If not replace it with a new one. 01:03 pm - Dragonage: Orgins The novels for this game arrived yesterday along with the collector's edition of the guide book and what a nice book it is indeed. Mainly for all the history of the world stuff that is in the back, I love world building and seeing how much effot went into creating the game world fills me with joy espically as a lot of the stuff in here wasn't used in the game at all.Like what the different noble title mean and how they come about as well as a history timeline. Anyone planing to write fanfic for this game whould really love the amount of background info on the world in genral. The book itself is hardback and has really good quality paper, the game guide is well written and the concept art in the back is beautiful. Really looking forward to using it in my next playthrough. On a sidenote I finished playing through Sherlock Holmes and in the end I have to say I really enjoyed it. The banter between Holmes and Watson really made this game as well as the fan in jokes like Holmes complaing that everyone seems to think he wears a deerstalker all the time. 05:03 pm Finally finished up the last of the Xmas shopping though still need to pick up a couple of small bits for the husband. Also got a few things for myself including the first season of True Blood, a load of books and some stuffed toys. These being a Mammoth, a Sabre-toothed Tiger and a Vampire Bat. Very cool indeed. 08:51 pm - Dragon age: Orgins and Sherlock Holmes Finished my second playthrough of Dragon Age and I think this one went a lot better then the first one as I got a lot more of the side quests done then I did the first time around. I also liked the ending a bit more it seemed a little bit happier then the first one. Next time round I'm gonna make all the worse choices possable to unlock some more of the achivments just to see how things play out that way. But first I'm gonna try out Sherlock Holmes Vs Jack The Ripper. It seems like a pretty good game so far apart from the fact that the voice acting is some of the worst I've heard in a long time. The other thing that's a little off putting is that all the townfolk seem to have escaped from Innsmouth in the Call Of Cthulhu on the first Xbox. It's really creepy. That said it's a pretty addictive game as you want to see what happens next. Nicly they have used the actual reports etc that were made at the time of the Jack The Ripper murders and I can't help but wonder who they are gonna paint as the murderer in this version. 11:28 am - Dragon Age: Orgins Novels Just found out there are two Dragon Age novels available which is awesome as I love back story. The first is called The Calling and is about The Grey Wardens and the second is called The Stolen Crown and is about the previous Kings fight to gain back the country's freedom and is a direct prequel to the actual game. Both are written by David Gaider. I'll be picking up both of them once I get paid next week along with the second Mass Effect novel that I hadn't realized existed. This time I'm playing as a human female mage and am well on my way to dating Alistar. I have to say he really is my fav character in the game as he's such a goofball. 09:33 am - Dragonage: Orgins Started playing Dragonage the new game by Bioware and I have to say I'm really enojying it so far. There are three different species you can be human, elf and dward and each one has 2 subsets which you can choose from giving a total of 6 different backgrounds. Each one starts out differently so if you choose to be a Noble human for instance you have one opening scene but if you choose to be a City elf(like I did) you get a different opening story. These stories change slightly depending on whether or not you are a male or female as well. Each race and subset has it's own starting skill sets as well though you can learn them later if you so desire. I choose the City elf as they started with persuation and I wanted that and stealing from the start as they always make life easier. I also choose them because they gave you the surname of Tabris, I couldn't be anyone else after seeing that. There are tons of sidequests in this game which is never a bad thing in my opinion and from what I hear the downloadable content that is available at the moment adds another 35 hrs of gameplay on top of what is already there. Lastly I checked out the romance options for having a male and female main. The female gets two guys and one girl love interest and the male gets 2 girls and one guy love interst(maybe theres hope for this in Mass Effect 2 after all). Plus if you are planning to play Mass Effect 2 there is a code with the game for a suit of armour that can be used both in this game and Mass Effect when it comes out.
